Quebec's Immigration Program
The Quebec, similar to the provincial nominee system, is a
certification-based system. Applicants are assessed under Quebec
specific immigration criteria, after which a certificate of
selection by Quebec is issued. Holders of this certificate are
subject federal security and medical checks.
There are
four categories under the Quebec Immigration System:
1.Independent
2.Investor
3.Entrepreneur
4.Self-Employed
All
applicants, who have the intention of immigrating to Quebec,
must submit an application to the government of Québec.
Procedure
The procedure for the Certificat de sélection du Québec is similar to
any other immigration petition as it involves an application and
interview. The difference being that after the issuance of the
acceptance letter, the applicant must fulfill federal
requirements concerning criminal and medical admissibility.
